I’m the founder and head coach of The Strength Movement
This all started in the midst of finding myself navigating my way out of the dieting mindset, in second guessing my eating and exercise behaviours, of plateuing in my lifting progress
It has become my mission to help females navigate the confusion, build more autonomy in their choices, and bridge the gaps between wellness and performance, so that you can have both
This is my story and why I’m here…
I started dieting from the age of 10. I just wanted to be smaller, to be more valued, but it lead me into second guessing every eating and exercise choice I made, and by year 12 I was suffering with many health consequences.
I was skiing at Mt Buller in June 2017, my year 12. One of the gym staff could tell I was not doing well and started talking to me about strength and what it took her to feel good in her body again.
That one conversation changed my future.
The next day I distinctively remember looking at my back in the lululemon change rooms and freaking out at how bony I had become. I downed a heap of those health “bounce balls” that I had in my bag and didn’t look back.
From then throughout the years I took on coaches who helped me let go of restrictive measures and start building a stronger body. I was introduced to the strength sport of powerlifting and even completed a half marathon with the performance headspace, no longer choosing to be smaller as a result of exercise, but to be faster, more powerful, take up space…
My journey inspired my sports science and eating disorder practitioner studies. It inspired the launch of my own coaching business in 2021 which I have evolved today to helping so many women transform their lives.
From the evolution of myself and inspiration from my coaches and clients The Strength Movement is now a collection of services designed to help people build autonomy in their choices and discover what building their bodies capacity without sacrificing their health can look like.
